Jennifer Heisler received her Ph.D. from  Michigan State University and is currently an Associate Professor of Communication at Oakland University.
Her research focuses on family communication, specifically the “difficult conversation topics” mothers and children discuss (or don’t!) such as sexuality and religion.
Recently she has expanded this inquiry to academic hallways by collecting stories of work-life (im)balance from faculty, administrators, and students. She resides in Michigan with her husband and three sons, where she’s currently wrestling through the 7th grade math at the kitchen table, high school graduation, and mothering a college kid in quarantine housing 3hours away.
