Université Laval
Assistant Professor in religious studies
Québec City, Canada
I am an assistant professor in religious studies at the Faculty of theology and religious studies at the Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada). My research explores the intersection of religions and spiritualities with women’s history, gender, embodiment, ritual, media, and material culture. Most of my recent publications pertain to various aspects of motherhood in religious and cultural contexts. I also worked on traditional and emerging ritualization of pregnancy and childbirth and on spiritual dimensions of fertility awareness and its digital modernization.

At IAMAS, I am co-chairing the International Women Forum. At the Université Laval, I am an associate member of the Chaire Claire Bonenfant : Femmes, savoirs, sociétés. I am also a member of the RéQEF (Réseau québécois d'études féministes) and an active participant to the "Chantier Religions, féminismes et genres" (research group on religions, feminisms and gender). Amongst many roles at the Université Laval, I am a member of the SPUL, the professors' union at the Université Laval, and a delegate for my faculty. On March 2nd, 2023, at the end of a 2-week period of an initial strike started on February 20, the union members voted 94.5% in favor of yet another strike mandate, this time unlimited, to start on Monday, March 13. For this reason, leading by example and with much regret, I cannot attend the last day of this fabulous 2023 IAMAS conference.
