Ann W. Duncan (Ph.D., University of Virginia) is Professor of American Studies Religion at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. Her research and teaching focus on intersections of religion and public life including religion and politics, new religious movements, the religious “nones” and motherhood and American Christianity. In addition to articles in journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Religion and Nova Religio, she is co-editor of Church-State Issues in America Today (Praeger, 2009) and “The Universe is Indifferent”: Theology, Philosophy and Mad Men (Cascade, 2016). She is currently completing a book manuscript on the Sacred Living Movement, women's spiritual birth movements and motherhood as religious experience.
